Email attachments - While composing

I couldn't attach documents (option not known) from sky drive or from the mobile while composing.
Only pictures can be attached.
Am I missing some thing? or is there any restriction in attaching documents?

Open Office, select a document, and then select "share". You'll be able to send it as an email attachment.

You're welcome. I don't believe so. I believe you have to start with the Office document, and then finish composing the email. I don't think you can start composing an email and then attach anything except a picture.
