Facebook updates in Me hub

Hi

I've been with WP7 for 18 months now and have just got a Lumia 820 on WP8.
One thing I have noticed and don't really get, is the way the people hub seems to have changed.
Previously, my Me hub would only give me Facebook updates for "likes" to my posts, comments on my posts, or tagged posts.
Since adding a few more FB friends in my WP8 environment, I am now getting personal post updates just from these new people.
Nothing to do with my being tagged, just "Joe Bloggs has posted a new photo"..

Is this new or have I set a setting somewhere that wasn't set?

Posts like these come up in my notifications because they are added to your close friends or some list to which I have set the notification for.

Please Check your facebook settings, there might be something there.

This^ I had to change settings on people to get that to go away.

You're right! When I accepted my latest friend I said she was a "close friend" or somesuch.
