Firmware update for Lumia 950/950 XL: 01078.00027.15506.020xx

Why is it do hard to get an explanation why for some the.36 update works for some white others it results in an installation error. In stuck in the.29 update no matter what I do to my 950xl.

So after installing the "new" firmware as I posted above, I got downgraded to the retail OS version :shocked::shocked::shocked:

Should've noticed from the update that the Firmware is an upgrade but the OS version is a downgrade.

Now I can see .29 update but it's stuck on 0%...

Im on .36 on my 950XL DS Unlocked (Europe) and just installed WDRT and it says I have a firmware update.

Hmmm and interesting that WDRT in the US doesn't have that. I guess MS must switch things up depending on the reason, even if the device model is technically the same.

So after the new firmware, .29 was available, so I installed it.
No sign of .36 anymore though.

Installed Insider Preview and .36 is there.
So now I'm running new firmware + .36

Now that WDRT is showing the same 454 firmware that I had installed for some reason (wasn't just 2 days ago), I'm going to use it. Maybe then I can get the new firmware then re-join insider and get the .36 update.

What a PITA.

Just bought 950xll Dec 23. I have .36 installed through Insider. Unfortunately, I'm using ATT in the US. My firmware is 0108.00017.15454.29005.

Well I used the WDRT and after it updated to .29 but I never got the firmware update :/ I don't want to install insider and do the .36 update until I get the firmware. Grrrr.

This is a good idea. Stay away from insider until firmware rolls through I'm tempted to use WDRT, because the firmware is currently sitting for me in it waiting. I'm in Australia, Insider .36 build.

A person in Australia reported in the Microsoft Forums that he sees the update when he/she hooks on to the WDRT. That person also said they are running the .36 build version.

I can confirm this... I wasn't getting the update either. Hooked up my XL to WDRT and that saw a new firmware was available.

Installed it via WDRT that did a hard reset on my phone and voila, new firmware installed and still on build .36. Restoring backup as we speak...

Mine updated to .29 without problems from .0 the first day and then the same with the firmware update (950 DS CV SPAIN no insider). And with my Lumia 520 on insider the same thing, .11 to .29 to .36, everything is ok. Maybe I'm the only one...

WDRT not finding mine here in the U.S. running an AT&T sim. Have the .39 software update (not on insider).
