I doubt it they are cheating us it's just Microsoft are slow. I just become annoyed that a major market like Europe and especially the UK has to wait so long yet places like Russia or Brazil are getting it first. Why?? Mine is sim free RM984 version but nothing yet

Aye, I do wonder how they decide to which market they'll push the updates first...

It would be nice to have something more indicative than the current page that list "who has it" and "who hasn't", but not "who is going to have it and when"...

But, I can wait some more, even if my 830 does have odd quirks here and there.

The 830 will not get the Lumia Camera 5...or passive voice activation for Cortana in ANY update. Those fearures require the S-800 processor and the 830 only has the S-400. Didn't you research this phone a little before you bought a new phone that doesn't have the required hardware for updates?

Hmm this news is bit a surprise to me when some regions already got this update. Does it mean Lumia 830 is being sold with different processors in different regions ??

This is very very very wrong. The Lumia 830 will get Lumia camera 5 and everything that comes with it. The only thing that is lessened is the moment capture is 2k instead of 4k. It is true about hey Cortana but that is a special part of the snapdragon 800 chip.

Even with Lumia Camera 5 the moment capture goes up just to 1080p, not 2K.

I've a 830 RM-984 and flashed a Belgium CV ROM on it that already had the full version of Lumia Denim.

Cortana is not available for my region so I haven't been able to test the voice activation, however I believe it's not available for the 830, at least for the moment.

Absolutely..while marketing and launch they say so many things and finally one won't have denim, other the camera app and cortana and experts say its processor can't take all of them. Then why do they advertise so many things and all reviews talk many things I dont understand

And for the Camera it's as easy as flash a ROM that already have the full version of Denim.

You seriously are making so much noise about it, it's not that big deal.

Whats more annoying is that the Vodafone 830 has had the full denim update for over 3 weeks, and the unlocked UK version is still not updated.

Check your facts : the 830 will get Lumia Camera 5, but will indeed miss out on the "Hey Cortana" feature which specifically requires the S-800 for passive voice activation.

What is required for LC5 is the Denim update, which is being progressively rolled out around the world. You can still install LC5 now without having Denim update, but you get the annoying "update required" message, but it still works, albeit without the Denim update features such as Rich Capture.

I'm not referring to Hey Cortana -yes a tiny bit of investigation will tell anyone bothering to look into that the 830 doesn't have the 800+ chipset for Hey Cortana to work. But from the day Lumia 830 was announced and press releases and official MS listings ( until recently) it showed the Lumia 5 camera already installed and functioning and touting all the features that ARE possible, but weren't even available. #1 Lumia 5 was not installed #2 Denim firmware installed didn't support it. Microsoft knowingly LIED and deceived the public in order to boost sales or something more nefarious but that is only conjecture. But lying yes. Press releases and even You Tube ( but have disappeared ) talks about the new Lumia Camera on the "affordable flagship* " were everywhere. Perhaps that bit advertising trick of mincing of words like 'affordable flagship' was a clue to how far MS will go to wink at the public while lying outright.

It would be like my sister saying "it's easy to learn and speak 5 languages" - for her it is, but she's not arrogant or ''clueless'' to think that everyone has the skill or means to do that... so she wouldn't say that.

Perhaps you should create a thread with a step by step How-to instead of replying with sarcastic retort ? or is that too hard for you ? :grin::wink:
