Gap at the top between the network, battery and the first row of panels

It's actually intentional design to push row 7 down below the fold, by having row 7 partially off the screen it's clear that you can scroll down. I think they could have made the top gap maybe 1/3 smaller, but to convey the ability to scroll half of row 7 should be hidden.

Except that means that the software is designed for one particular piece of hardware... On the 8X, that gap means that row 7 lines up perfectly with the bottom of the screen. Removing the gap would do what you're saying... for Row 8.

So, I'm inclined to agree with the toast group. And yes, it would be ideal if toasts pushed the whole screen down.

Actually that could be very annoying. Imagine you are trying to launch an app with the small tile set and then you get a message at the same time you try and launch and app. Well now you launched the wrong app probably.

it wouldn't be likely to happen but the one time it woudl it would be pretty annoying :-p That is my take on it. I feel like its probably well thought out.
