Gapless music playback in Windows Phone 8.1?

Anyone know?

They had it in the Zune, took it out in WP7, and never put it back in.

I had a Focus, a L900, a L920 and then just couldn't take it anymore and got an iPhone to enjoy my music.

Putting it in would go a long way to me looking at maybe switching back this summer.

WP8.1 has a file picker.
Therefore any app can access a local collection of music and play it back.
So now there will be 3rd party apps with gapless.
E.g. mscosmin's clean music player. Just wait for him to make a WP8.1 version.

This assumes that the lack of a file picker was the only thing preventing a 3rd party app from doing gapless playback correctly.

The lack of gapless playback is very, very annoying. Even the VLC Beta does not offer this.

Yep, you need to look at another device if you want decent audio playback.
