Anyone know?

They had it in the Zune, took it out in WP7, and never put it back in.

I had a Focus, a L900, a L920 and then just couldn't take it anymore and got an iPhone to enjoy my music.

Putting it in would go a long way to me looking at maybe switching back this summer.

Thanks

WP8.1 has a file picker.
Therefore any app can access a local collection of music and play it back.
So now there will be 3rd party apps with gapless.
E.g. mscosmin's clean music player. Just wait for him to make a WP8.1 version.

not with the official app in the emulator.

This assumes that the lack of a file picker was the only thing preventing a 3rd party app from doing gapless playback correctly.

Do we know that this is the case?

A week or two ago, at the Build 2015 presentation, slides confirmed that gapless playback will be a native feature in Windows Phone 10
