GSMArena claims that Lumia 920 has worst speakers WTF

Hmm, I own the 920 and have no issue with speaker quality, may want to relax until YOU actually try one

My speaker sounds better on my Lumia 920 than it did on my Samsung Focus. That's the only comparison I care about :)

No problems here. Not a lot of difference between Samsung g3 and Nokia lumia 920.

When you read the article, it specifically mentions that the audio output for the 'ringer' is low when receiving calls... which I guess I can agree with, but it is still better than my Focus.

Thats why I am surprised when I read Roger's review they stated that the speaker quality is miles better than Galaxy S2. Is GSMArena paid by IOS or android to post bad review on Nokia?

Strange. My 920 is louder and sounds better than my 900 did and the 900 was pretty good. I just watched a movie in bed on Netflix last night in fact and it sounded great.

To be honest S2 and iphone 5 have better and louder speaker than lumia , although lumia speaker is realy good ! !

I have no issues with my speakers. It's a really amazing change from the iPhone especially when playing a game or video. No more cupping my hand to try and direct every last bit of sound with the speakers cranked up.

Right now I would agree,

Compared to my 2010 Samsung Focus...the 920 wins

Compared to my 900....the 920 is worse, even asked nokia care about this issue but they told me to try hitting the volume button (rolls eyes)

Some 920 are worse than others...I had a black 920 that was fine, but my cyan 920 was worse...bad batch? quality control?

I wouldn't jump the gun and head right to the conspiracy theories. Look up and down the board, the 920 is riddled with some major and some minor issues. Not everyone who writes a negative about the 920 is paid off. On top of the fact that he's criticizing NOKIA, the hardware manufacturer.

...Is GSMArena paid by IOS or android to post bad review on Nokia?

I would give this some traction IF they just gave their opinion but they hard fact based numbers. We can't call the biased card every time a review gives less than glowing reviews of our product.

BTW: If they were paid by Apple, I'd think they would give them some a ranking higher than 9 out of 10!

FYI: The Lumia 820 did better in their test

they rated the iPhone 5 speaker on par (below average) as the 920...

Thanks to the OP about bringing up this subject!

The same website did a review for the 900...and according to their numbers the 900 was louder than my 920...now its not just me going crazy with my unscientific "I think its lower"

Notice how the the 920 scored lower in all categories.

The only review that anyone can ever trust, is the one they do for themselves while actually holding the item being reviewed...
I would always use these sorts of reviews as an aggregate - pick the info that you are curious about, then go physically try the device somewhere to see for yourself.
It doesn't matter *who* does the reviews you read - they are all skewed in one way or another, as personal opinion is exactly what the reviews really end up being. Even if they have numbers showing decibel levels etc., how the phone actually sounds in person will be all that counts.

My opinion? I think it has pretty good speakers for a phone, and am happy with it.

It could be about the fact that audio is mono and not stereo. But that can be fixed in a future update

I think the speaker volume can get quite loud with music, but I think that the speaker phone (for phone calls) is low.

My speaker sounds better on my Lumia 920 than it did on my Samsung Focus. That's the only comparison I care about :)

+1

The quality of the built-in speaker is so far down on the list for me its not even worthy of mention. Anyway, all cell phone speakers suck! How can you expect to get big sound out of such a small speaker.
