I tried to download the recovery tool - but is only for windows... I have a Mac at home, and after playing with the tech preview for windows 10 I can't find a way of rolling back to windows phone 8.1.

I don't care about keeping my apps / photos etc. I just want to get back to Windowsphone 8.1. I miss cortana speaking to me.

I'm in UK, and have a Lumia 735.

So how does that link explain what to do when you are on a mac again?

But back on topic.. You need access to a windows PC.

Exactly - I have read that link before I posted the question. I don't have a Windows Laptop - therefore that's my problem. So, basically no way to do it unless I find someone with a windows laptop?

Incidentally, I have hard reset my WP10TPreview and it works much better now... so might just stick it out and give feedback to Microsoft

That would be a good idea ( giving feedback) and that also gives you some time to find a windows pc/laptop.
But to be honest you should have checked how to roll back before you updated to W10 TP. And then you would have known that it can not be done with a Mac.😊

Bootcamp was killed off by Apple. The amount of people loading Windows on their hardware was a bit top-heavy ;)

But seriously. You could use Virtualbox with the win10 TP ISO if you do not have win7 or win8 at hand.

You'll still need a copy of windows to load via boot camp.

By chance do you have a friend, neighbor with a windows machine you can go over and use? That actually might be the quickest and easiest. How about at work, do you have a windows system there?

I've installed a tech preview version of windows 10 on virtualbox on my mac. I haven't had chance to look at it this morning. I have a friend with a windows laptop and he said he will bring tomorrow. At work we aren't allowed to download anything to the laptop so cant install the software recovery tool.
