So yesterday I got myself a Samsung ATIV S from Telus and everything I'm managing to figure out on my own pretty well. I'm new to the whole Windows 8 in general but I'm learning. Anyways, I've noticed that the music app doesn't seem to close properly, only when I hit pause it stops. However when I hit the volume rocker it shows the song with options to play skip or go back. I know it's supposed to be a useful thing, but it's kind of annoying. Also is there a way to close running programs? I don't think hitting the back button closes them, or at least it doesn't feel right. Maybe I'm too use to my Galaxy Note 2, holding home and then swiping the program makes sure it's closed. Anyways I also went under settings and to the background section and music as well as some other apps are grayed out. So anyone know of some sort of application manager I can download? Also there doesn't seem to be a file explore in the phone? At least I can't find it, anyways hopefully someone can help me out. Thanks~!

Hi and welcome to WPCentral. Stop the Music! is the app that will work for you. Stop the Music! | Windows Phone Apps+Games Store (United States)

Hey there, welcome to Windows Phone! To answer your questions, the music stopping issue can be solved easily by either downloading an app called Stop The Music (free) or playing a video. Also, the back button is used for closing apps completely. If you want to check the apps you have in the background, hold the back button! And I don't think you need to worry about the background tasks, you should only be worried about disabling unneeded background apps to save a lot of battery ;)
