home button pulses after water damage

hi droped phone in water months ago so i thought it would be dry by now,when i plug in charger only the home windows button flashes ,could i need a new battery ? any thoughts cheers

The battery is probably dead, and needs a longer charge.

As for the water damage, depending upon what sort of water and how long, you might want to take the back off and see if you notice any greenish corrosion beginning. If so, isopropyl alcohol (99% if you can get it) and a Q-tip will fix you right up.
