Hello!

I did some searching but could not find the answer. I just received an email and a couple of pictures are attached. In fact, when you open the email, the pictures are shown. How can I save these pictures in my photo album? I tried to touch a picture hoping to see the option of saving but nothing came up. I double tap and nothing as well.

Can I save them or how do I save them?

Thanks!

Tap the file, download, tap again to open the picture. Then tap three dots at bottom of screen, save to phone. Hope that helps.

re:

This sounds great, but it does not work whatsoever. I'm having the exact same problem as the OP.

I sent myself a photo to my yahoo mail. I check my yahoo mail on my W8 Phone.

The email shows up, I can click "download photo" then afterwards I can SEE the photo in the email.

From here, clicking it does nothing, holding down the button does nothing, the '3 dots' in the bottom right give me two options: 'mark as unread' and 'move' both of which are commands for the email.

NOTHING allows me to save the photo to my phone.

re:

Also, when i 'text' myself the photo, i get the text "Msg from xyz, subject xyz,"

And then the photo isn't there. I'm starting to think that microsoft is purposely "restricting" the photo from being on my phone because I dont digitally 'own' it, I've read about people on normal Windows 8 for the desktop having similar issues, where you have to validate a photo in order to download it. Does anyone know if this is correct? Its completely restricting any photo from being on my phone that I do not take myself with the phone.

re:

After doing more testing, other emails with pictures are working correctly. I can download them, then click them, and copy to phone.

However, the original photo I was using still cannot do this. I eventually solved the problem by sending the photo to my friend's email, having my friend bring up his email on his phone and save the image, then SMS me the image from his phone, where I could correctly save it.

re:

I can save pictures from email/mms.

What happens is, the picture opens in the picture viewer app, which always gives you two options from the hidden menu: save to phone and use as lockscreen.

If you see email relates items in the hidden menu I suspect something is wrong with your phone. Hard reset, try the settings on another phone in store, etc.

re:

I have Yahoo email & Windows 8.
Here is what works for me when someone sends photos to my email.
Select DOWNLOAD ALL.
Select SAVE ALL TO MY COMPUTER.
Choose option to SAVE.
Wait for the message that says the attachment download has completed.
Select OPEN.
Then, one at a time, right click each picture file & select COPY.
Right click on your Picture folder in the leftmost column & select PASTE.
Repeat the COPY & PASTE for each picture file.
Then you can delete the files from the download, but I usually check my
Picture folder first to make sure the photos are actually saved there since
sometimes quirky things happen with computers.
I hope this helps someone.

In Mac its very simple you can even download all pics in the same message at the same time:
1. open message
2. hover cursor over the clip icon (no need to press)
3. a small window will appear with several options with trashbin, etc but click that dropdown beside the clip icon
4. save all
