How do I change association of PDF to a PDF reader app

I have a PDF on my SD card of my Windows 10 Phone.

I also have 2 different free PDF apps installed from the Windows Store.

When I open File Explorer to find the PDF and then tap to open the PDF, it always opens in the browser instead of one of the PDF reader apps.

How can I get the PDF to open in one of the PDF readers?

The other option, since both of my free PDF readers don't have an option to browse for a PDF, is there a PDF reader that someone can recommend that has an option to browse for a PDF instead of depending on PDFs to be associated with their app?

Uninstall the two pdf apps you have and install OneReader. It can brows the SD card and OneDrive for pdf files. Once they are opened in the reader they are in the library.
It can also share files to OneDrive, email and Bluetooth

However, it isn't possible to change the default app that opens pdf files on windows 10 mobile

You do not have to consider what the default app is with the use of a good PDF reader.

Annoying thing is that you cannot just open document from browser or email, making you download it first (I do not like edge due to limited zoom mainly). There was an option some time ago to choose what you want to open it with, but i suppose this was just too much choice left for the user so MS removed it. **** takers...
