How do I get my calendar entries to go down to a second line instead of running off of the page?

Readjustment of Calendar Entries

In a calendar entry, if a certain field exceeds the number of characters that can fit the width of the screen, how does one adjust the settings so that the characters in excess could be readjusted to a second line instead of running out of visibility?
