How does the People tile work?

I edit a contact in my phone to add new information, and it doesn't sync over to the People tile on my Surface. And it doesn't show all my Facebook contact's profile information, like email, address, etc. Why not, or am I doing something wrong?

Bump this, except for me profile pictures that I change on my phone (I change the Hotmail profile picture) don't sync over to the contact on my Surface. Details for my contacts sync over though...
