How to get rid of the advert sidebar?

I noticed this morning that I've now lost about 25% of the width of my forum screen because of the advert driven sidebar.

While I realise this is encouraging revenue for WPCentral, it's not relevant for me personally. So, is there any way of getting rid of the side bar as I find it takes up too much space and is distracting?

Oh, I found it. There was a black "close" X on the "Tip us News" box right at the top that closed the whole side bar.

Oh, speaking of adverts. Before I installed a tracking list, I was getting some adverts for "AnalCare", when I have never searched for anything remotely connected to problems of that ilk. Not really the kind of thing I want displayed on my work laptop....

Maybe some poster called an Android a hemorrhoid and that triggered the ad. LOL
