How to how to get your notifications sounds to come through the phone with Bluetooth connected

I hope this has not been answered repeatedly, I searched quite a bit and could not find an answer to this very annoying issue. When Bluetooth is connected and I do not have it in my ear I cannot hear the notification that I have received a text message. I have to check it and miss timely messages. Anyone know if there is a setting to change this cannot find it.

There isn't. This is one of the things driving me nuts with Windows Phone, and Microsoft needs to address this issue ASAP.

It goes both ways, too. With headphones connected through the headphone jack you'll hear notifications but no ringing. With Bluetooth headphones you'll hear the phone ringing but no notifications.

Absolutely insane.
