How to make the taskbar icons monochrome?

I like the monochrome look of the taskbar shortcuts (like the Start button, Cortana, Task View, etc.). I swore that when I first installed Windows 10, the Store app icon and the Xbox app icon were both pinned there in black and white. But now they've adopted those generic color backgrounds (blue for Store and green for Xbox). How do I get them back to monochrome? I'd also like to do this for Edge's icon too.

Yes, this is something's that's annoying me too. They used to be black and white but all of a sudden they must have been updated and the lost the black and white. Groove and Movies/TV are still monochrome.

It seems to be a bug. I had this happen too. It's not an app update, but some other update that does it I believe. I did a clean install, updated all from store, then had them all open (as monochrome), then, before my eyes after a few minutes, they all reverted back to the tile look.
