[WARN]Proceed At Your Own Risk.

You are strongly urged to create a Restore Point before proceeding.
[/WARN]

For our example we will remove the Photos App.

Go to Cortana on your Taskbar and type in Powershell.

Right click on the Desktop App result and select Run as Administrator. Let Powershell load up and give you a prompt.

Code:
PS C:\WINDOWS\system32>

At the prompt type in

Code:
Get-AppxPackage *photo* | Remove-AppxPackage

Press enter. Allow the command to process.

Enjoy.

Substitute these package names to remove the corresponding services:

  • Photos - *photo*
  • Camera - *camera*
  • Mail and Calendar - *communi*
  • People - *people*
  • Money, Sports, News, Travel, Health, Food and Weather - *bing* or to just remove certain ones use *bingsports*, *bingtravel* etc. Use
    Code:
'Get-AppxPackage *bing* | ft Name, PackageFullName -AutoSize'
    to view the names
  • Groove Music and Movies & TV - *zune*
  • Xbox - *xbox*
  • Solitare - *solit*
  • 3D Builder - *3d*
[INFO]

If you want an App back, the Store will provide it. Simply open Store and search for the title. You will be offered the Install button.

re: How-To Remove "Uninstallable" Apps in Windows 10

here's the legacy photo viewer if you just want to browse your photos in a simple way like before: https://onedrive.live.com/redir?res...0575&authkey=!AFKWt6v21QTYAag&ithint=file,zip

Tested as working...

However, there is no App icon in All Apps even after a reboot and if you right click > open with > photo viewer the resultant program icon on the taskbar cannot be pinned... Still options are good and one could always set it as default.

FWIW, I always got way more mileage out of Picture Manager. Different strokes.

The Store now seems to be recognizing if an "uninstallable" App is missing from your system and offering to Install for you. OP updated.

I don't care what anybody says... I use the heck out of this after every install for myself or others. So glad I left it here. At least I use it. I'd thank myself on every post if I could.

The latest removal is Mail & Calendar as I much prefer my Outlook in a browser. It's great to strip away all the dross.

Today is 2019. Win 10 continues to load my hard drive 100 percent. The camera hangs, Skype, the Word does not open well. Advise - if a free program to remove all unnecessary and unnecessary?
