Referring to the above I just got my Lumia 920 back from warranty and they replaced my motherboard.

I have virtually everything restored except my APPS OR APP LIST!

Can anyone tell me how I can do it? Previously all my app list backup was activated before I sent my phone for repair.

Help please!

You'll have to log into your account at windowsphone.com and manually install from there.
Remember to select 'Send Apps To My Phone' from Settings>Find my Phone.
It is a long and slow task, but it does give the option to start afresh.
Texts should be saved by your account.

Also, make sure you select "enable push notifications" in the "find my phone" section of "settings" so you can get them back on your phone.

Alternatively, you can do a hard reset on your phone and as it boots up, log in with your Microsoft account. If you have a data signal (very important!!), it will look for a backup and give you the option to restore from there. My wife had to send hers in and we found out that that was the only way to restore from backup.

How can Microsoft not think this trough? Backing up and.restoing data is soo important!!!

I just replaced my phone and also did a couple of resets and if I'm not mistaken, it re-installed a lot of my apps. Both phones were WP8.

On a hard reset, or changing devices, yeah the option to do a backup will appear. If I'm you.. Pull your pics and such to PC or load to SkyDrive, then reset it. On restart, use your windows live login, and everything will start pulling down, even your old texts, providing you had the backup settings tabbed..

Adding videos, music: songs/podcasts etc to the suggested list to back up on your PC. Also screen grabs of your start page(s) saved to your PC are very helpful in a re-construction from a hard reset (if your start screen layout is important to you).

Yes It should reinstall all paid apps, any unpaid apps or apps that are no longer available in the marketplace will not reinstall.

Free apps will also reinstall. If they're unavailable, then you're SOL. It also depends on the last time your settings were uploaded/backed up to SkyDrive. When I swapped devices, I hit the button to backup now.

Thanks guys! I restored my apps trough the WP website. It took long but it worked.

The major pain is the ass was to re-organize my home screen!! Isn't there a way to back up the home screen?

Can't really connect my Lumia to the PC as neither Zune or Nokia PC suit will detect it.

It works by hard resetting phone by going to Settings-->About--> Reset Phone.
After the phone boots up again, it will ask for the Live ID. Enter the Live ID details, after which it will download and sync whatever was backed up.
Initially only the accounts that have been added are synced and all the apps are installed in the background. So one can quickly switch to WiFi once the initial steps are done. It downloads around 2MB data, before bringing the phone to a usable state, where WiFi can be turned on.

What I do is take screen shots of my start screen and save those along with my pictures, videos, etc. to my SkyDrive or PC. Then, when I get my phone reset and settings restored and apps reinstalled, I open the screen captures on my computer, unpin everything from my start screen then repin following my screen captures.

I know Zune will not recognize a WP8 but there is a WindowsPhone desktop app that will. Short of that, the Lumia should show on your PC as a connected device and you can use Windows Explorer to copy/move files between your phone and PC.
