How to solve the problem with USB connectivity for windows Phone?

Its been a year when i got my 640XL. And after some software update i cant connect my phoe to my pc using a USB cable. To transfer data i would have to remove my SD card ,put it in my pc, copy the files and again put in my phone.

have you tried a different USB cable and USB port? Or a different pc?

Are you sure that you are using a data cable?

Yes I've tried both..different pc and a different cable. Im having the same problem with my lumia 540 also.
I hope the anniversary update fixes the bug
