Brick phone be damned, I'm installing GDR3 now, lol. I haven't seen any reports of major problems, plus we all know it's going to take AT&T forever to release another WP update. I used the free developer program. So who knows, maybe I'll actually make an app one day, hah.

I've been going back and forth all day. Still haven't pulled the trigger. I've been looking for reports of problems as well. Looking good so far. I'll probably cave in the next day or two.

Update is downloading right now. The only reason I didn't start the upgrade sooner is because sense 6am this morning I have had a steering wheel or a tool in my hand. I just got out of the shower sitting down for a night of upgrades. :)

I'm thinking about updating but I don't want to void my carrier warranty. Even though I don't really know what the repercussions of actually doing that are.

I am not trying to talk you into anything. The following is just for the mod team. The carriers won't know you did anything unless you tell them. They are clueless I assure you. I will openly deny this in the forum but the truth is I have hacked many of my devices and later called them in on insurance or warranty. Just make sure it is a hardware issue and not a software issue. That's just between us.

Or maybe they're so used to seeing hacked Android devices that they don't even bother checking anymore.

I've heard one guy say that the back button doesn't always close IE but that's about it. I haven't been able to duplicate the issue though. Otherwise everything has been fine. No problems here.

I've updated to GDR3 the moment I saw the article as I've had one dreamspark and 2 one dev account already in place. It is really snippy and don't see any obvious drawbacks. However, screen seems to be freaking super sensitive and even with "normal" sensitivity, OS responses are freakishly quick!

The better part I've seen is - Speech and notifications - both of them are much better than what I've felt on any previous OS. I had to always switch to USA speech pack in order for speech to recognise what I spoke, but after GDR3, it's been UK speech pack and she knows! Been writing emails and texts using voice all morning.
Notifications are not being stuck somewhere out in the woods - Kik, Facebook particular were unbearable, they've been pretty much instant-ish.

I just did not appreciate lack of true "multiple email attachments" and custom tones for apps. There don't seem to be many apps on market giving ability to set tones are text or email tones. So idea was to design something beautiful that will fill that gap. Also I wanted to give a twist to this app and let users choose to trial it - no ads, but if they feel like donate to 2 or 3 charities of their choice by paying 79p or something like that. This is just a thought, will see how market responds to this GDR3 saga.

For me the Facebook app still lags noticeably behind the website. Though that was happening before GDR2.

Just installed it, everything is so buttery smooth. Loving the new storage breakdown and the ability to tether through Bluetooth.
