I HATE Microsoft

That's weird how Panos Panay didn't launch the Surface in his (or his parent's) country yet.
Hey, I've always wondered... can't people in India (and other countries where a product hasn't released) just order one on the web? EBay? Can't have something shipped??? I've never understood the problem here. Someone enlighten me...

In Argentina you can't. I mean, you can order it, but if/when it arrives (a month later) you have to go get it to customs (50km from where I live, in Buenos Aires), where you have to wait standing for 3-4 hours (Monday to Friday between 9 and 11am), present some forms filled with your purchase info, and pay 50% of the amount you had paid for the product (tax), plus the storage fee for each day they had the product in their deposit (I think it's a dollar a day or less).

Also, when you pay by credit card, they (government) also applies a tax of 35% for making a purchase in a foreign currency.

ALL of that only if you find a seller that is willing to ship to Argentina, and if they (people in customs I suposse) don't steal the content of the package (which happens more than one can imagine).

I see.. Thanks for the explanation. I didn't think about customs.

You know, I was really excited when i bought my new laptop and I couldn't be happier up until now. But because of the Surface Pro 3, I now hate my month old $1500 Toshiba KIRAbook.

In all seriousness though, I love my laptop, but the Surface Pro 3 looks incredible and IMO is the best Ultrabook/convertible hands down. Just had to get that out there :)

What is wrong with Toshiba? I love Toshiba. Stick to one OEM and you wont be disappointed. MSFT I love it choose your maker. 😁Not for nothing I have Apple at work provided by my boss. But all my personal products are MSFT. Desktop, Laptop, Tablet, Cell Phone. And like McDonalds I am loving it.

Nopeee... For some reason India is kept out the surface picture

Sending a new device to a new country isn't that easy, you need support, imagine all the people who want to fix their products, where will they head to?

Specially as Himanshu said, there isn't even a Microsoft store... well that's actually the reason why there is no Surface there, same as a LOT of countries.

That would be awesome. Sure it's not nice to have something new in your face 6 months after buying a product. But on the other hand you'll know that something even better will be out 6 months after that. It's an awesome world we live in. I love these products.
That's the age we live in now really, not saying that Microsoft will do this, but I'd like to see them do it like this.
On one hand you will always know there is something better coming in only 6 months time, but on the other hand you'll know that there will be something new coming 6 months after that, so if you don't jump in and buy one you will be waiting forever.

Doing releases this way could also make for more consistent sales rather than people holding off on buying one towards the end of a product cycle. If they do it like their software cycle with slight improvements/refinements on each product rather than big jumps every 12-18 months then people will could be more likely to not worry about waiting for the next version.

Month old ? In the return period for it ? Or try to sell it (take a small hit if it's brand new) and buy the Surface 3 if that is what you really want.

I just bought a SP2 after getting a SP1. I'm OK with updated hardware now because it is so easy to get rid of the old stuff and sign in to my account to find everything where it should be. The only thing I need to add via a disc is Dragon Dictation and Snag It.

Keep it coming Microsoft.

Latin america is one of the biggest world shares for wp AND for windows and we dont even have microsoft stores, that?s because everyone buys low cost smartphones... in my country if you spend US$500 on a WP smartphone you will be considered stupid, and they're right, it doesn't have nearly as much connectivity as the other two platforms and you spent that much money... Anyway, i guess they only care about what gets them more money.

PS: You will be pretty sorry if you change that laptop for a surface... trust me.

They all seem to come here (Florida) and buy up that stuff like crazy. You'll see Brazilians come in and buy 5~10 phones at full price.
