I have the 830

Thanks for clarifying that. Also has anyone of you connected their prototype devices to the Nokia Care Suite to find the product code and/or updates?

I've connected it to NCS and NSRT(nokia software recovery tool) and so far there aren't any updates . im thinking because this is a Latin variant we have to wait till it officially launches in those countries
also the product code shows up when you open your phone to change the battery and when you connect it to NCS

Do you mind sharing the product code?

Warning : I'm not sure if this is going to be the same product code when it comes to the Latin America so take this code lightly . I'm also waiting to see if it's the same code when it comes out
Product code : 059V6W0

Now that some of you have been using the RM-985 for sometime, can someone post the battery life you're getting with it on moderate to heavy usage?

hmm I think its subjective but for me my day starts at 5am and it ends at 5pm . it drops to 35pct sometimes 30pct . that's me looking at wpc and other news + texting people and using snapchat and using tapatalk.
on my 810 after all that I would be at 20, 25 pct and my 830 30,35pct. so its am improvement

Well thanks for the info! I am basically considering moving to the 830 from my current pentaband 920, only reason being battery life. I get about 13-14 hours on above moderate use, outside of this everything works on par with the 830 (I guess), this was the only reason I have been asking so many questions off lately about this beauty.

I think the phone will improve after all the fixes and updates come to this phone. the phone is worth the buy because it reminds me of the 810 and how well it worked even without the firmware. the camera is just like the 920 just a little better.

Well I guess the only thing that scares me is when the devices would get updated with Cyan officially. The way Microsoft/carriers are delaying the release I don't want to end up waiting till December to get Glance working. Secondly if you enter your IMEI on the Nokia warranty site what does it say about it?

Hmmm i Never tried the warranty thing because I don't know how to do that :p . To be honest I get the peace of mind that this phone really is a good successor to the best phone the 810 . I'll look around the Nokia site to see how to do that and I'll report back

Well TBH I am not that into the warranty thing either, you can look at the list of phones I have bought till now, I am not rich enough to buy all of them new ...well some of them I did buy new. The reason I wanted to check the warranty thing was because the seller on eBay advertises that the phone would get a year's warranty by Nokia. Just for my peace of mind that would atleast imply that this phone would be receiving the proper software update once it launches in the Americas.

I'll check it now just to help out . I know how it feels to be close to buy a phone but what to know more about it. Don't want the whole 810 fiasco again ;)

Does the 985 version have editable APN settings under cellular+SIM? The reason I ask is I am on Cricket and the only way I can get Internet Sharing is by performing the foreign SIM trick.

FWIW, I also just picked up a Lumia 830 (RM-984-1035) with the latest update (8.10.14157.200). My L920 fell down one too many stone steps. ;-)

I can explain most of the benchmarking results compared to other devices.

Basemark II is a bit of an exception, as it only provides abstract numbers with little meaning. Each Basemark II score is an amalgamation of multiple tests, with no explanation how each individual test is weighted (how strongly each contributes to the final score), nor is it clear what exactly each test does nor how it does it. As a result, explanations of Basemark II are necessarily somewhat fuzzy. I'd recommend other tests, as I consider Basemark II to be more of a toy than a serious benchmarking tool, but it is popular nevertheless. I'll do my best though.

Thanks for all the information Sahib! Everytime I get a reply from you I go back to watch more reviews online and that confuses me more since I would be switching from my 920/925 :-/

Looks like I'll probably end up buying it soon

If you need more answers ask away because most likely others might have the same questions
