Through decent earphones, mine sounds great. The built in speakers have pretty much no bass though.

My pen works as expected. I suspect there is something wrong with the AAAA battery in yours. Maybe the battery is dead on arrival or inserted backwards. If not, then it's probably a defective pen.

Kinda crazy how the loud the fan got while installing the updates. Did the same thing happen to you?

Yep, that fan seems to get pretty active with just about any CPU intensive tasks. Copying files over LAN, playing games, etc. Normal use... seems to be pretty quiet though.

However, even light tasks, this thing like to stay warm. Especially the top/right area. Haven't really seen it go much below 95-98F with light usage.

I don't think it changes colors. Previous models didn't either. Mine took less than an hour to charge from 50 to 100%. I wasn't really timing it though. When the device is on, you can see the battery status either on the desktop (by the clock) or by swiping from the right (again, by the clock).

As mentioned earlier, I do not believe that it changes from anything but white. As far as charging time, I really don't now. I plugged it in after using it a while when it got down to 16%, and now it is at 74%; however, I do not remember what time it was when I plugged it in.

Where did you end up putting the little tab to hold the pen? I don't like the spot they show on the demo units.

Seems pretty good. I am no audio expert, but the audio through my Sony earbuds sounds rich and full, with a good mix of bass.

I am seeing that right around the top where the 6 pins are and above the F6 key near where the magnetic strip is, there seems to be a slight bubble like the material is not glued down properly. Is it supposed to be that way for the flex cable or something in there? Can you all check your type cover and let me know? Thanks.

Wow, the Windows Experience Index score certainly is quite a bit harder to get than on Win7.

I don't notice anything like that on my type cover. Can you post a picture?

I didn't put it on. I personally don't like the looks of it from what I've seen, and I didn't want it sticking out the side like that. I just clip the pen onto the type cover, as there is a groove in the type cover that works nicely.
