Icon - Still Top Windows Phone for Verizon

How do the HTC M8 pictures compare to the iPhone 5s? I'm trying to decide between the Lumia Icon and HTC M8 for Windows. I want the extra storage expandability, but I also want good pictures.... I'm so confused. God, I wish Nokia allowed extra storage space on their high end phones. I have a Lumia 820 8gb, with a 32 gb micro sd in it, and have used up all the phone storage and sd storage. Please someone who has the M8 answer how the camera compares to the iPhone 5s.

Having played with the HTC for a weekend, it a great phone. But not enough to make me go away from the Icon. It's a really long phone. That surprised me but that's because of the front speakers. I don't like the virtual buttons. I will straight up say it: the camera on the HTC is pretty weak. It's faster but what good is speed if the pictures look bad? And speed on the Icon is good with the ProShot app.

I love the Qi charging of the Icon.

The one feature of the HTC that I so desperately wish the Icon had is the external storage support. The 32 GB of the Icon gets really limiting.

Oooh.... a heated discussion! I just upgraded from an Android device to WP (2 days as a WP user). I was about to purchase the HTC One M8 for Windows and then switched camps to the Nokia Lumia Icon. It was a tough decision. I played with both phones at the Verizon store and researched them heavily online. The M8 is a beautiful phone. The SD card storage is a huge plus. The IR blaster, though a bit gimmicky, is still a nice feature. On the other hand, the Icon's camera is the best for WP on VZW. For me, it came down to this... for $100 the M8 pros were not that valuable to ME compared to what the Icon offers for $0. That was my decision though and what I find more valuable is not necessarily what the next WP user will. Again, the running theme is to each their own.

yeah, that's another factor. we had been comparing feature-for-feature. but when you factor in cost, the Icon is amazing for the price. I think once it gets Cyan too, it'll help. The HTC is already fully upgraded in terms of OS and firmware.

If you're using an upgrade it would be hard to pass up the Icon to get the M8. It gets more complicated if you're buying outright or with the edge plan.
