I'll be in the modern world of WP8 soon

Did you get your 920? How you liking it?
I love it so far! It's way better than the 900. I still have to get all those cool camera apps. I already added Instagram and Pandora.

It's updating out the wazoo today. Already did one update, and now it's doing another one. I'll see what its OS and firmware is once it finally finishes all the updates.

What should I do with the SIM that was with the 920 when I got it? I just swapped my SIM from 900 to 920. When I previously purchased a phone from someone else, he didn't send me a SIM.

You could toss the old SIM in the trash. Not sure why he left his SIM in there unless he was switching to a phone that doesn't support microSIM. Glad you like your 920 though!

Thanks! That's what I'll do with the SIM.

The wireless charging is really cool!

Is Camera360 the photo app everyone likes? I installed it.

Never tried camera360. I mostly use the built-in camera, unless I have more time to establish the shot then I use Nokia Camera.

Maybe it's ProCam I'm thinking of. I know there was one really popular app that people were using and posting pictures, but I forgot which one it is.

You might be thinking of ProShot. That's the really popular one that had several unique camera features like a year before Nokia Camera came out. I'm not sure if the developer still posts on this forum but he used to.

That's the one! I found it it Muessig's camera tutorial thread and installed it.

Like on the front page comments about any new phone, I personally don't get the point of it until public places adopt it.

The point that I can just walk by and set it on the pad and not mess with cables at home is enough for me. Public places don't define my experience.

Same here. I really wouldn't have a need to charge in a public place like a coffeehouse. Not messing with cables (and not needing to wear out the microUSB port) at home or at work would be the only use I'd have for charging.

I used to like the Blackberry charging docks since I could just drop the Blackberry in the charging dock on my desk.

You rebel, you.

Lol. Or maybe because I over compensate and worry about running low on battery when out. I have it on the pad before leaving the house. And have a car charger in case it's not 100% when I leave so I can top it off in the car. I don't want to have to worry about bumming a charge somewhere.

Random story about wireless charging... I picked up a wireless charger recently... knew it would work great with the Nexus 5 I have. So I used it w the 5 for a week or so... at which point the device stopped using. Turns out the device needed to be charged specifically with the charger that came with it. Battery would not charge on it anymore. Was 'stuck' at 17%. When I returned to using the stock charger, battery charged up nicely and everything was back to normal.

Word of warning is all :)

Going forward I'm going to check the specs on wireless chargers to see how they compare to the charger included. I suspect if the charger is not a good fit you'll just end up killing battery life, or even fry the phone!

A couple of things that I've learned about wireless charging. Not all wireless chargers are equal. Most will give the number of millimeters the phone needs to be for it to charge. You'll see some that say 4 millimeters, 5 millimeters, 7 millimeters...etc. My wife has a Nexus 5 and I got her the google wireless charger for it. It would charge her phone without a case, but not with a heavy duty thick case.

I got her a wireless charger that said the phone had to be within 8mm and can be used with any charger 500-2100mA with a micro USB port. When I tried it using the stock 1800mA Nexus 5 charger it would charge her phone through a thick case, but it was touchy, you had to fine the right spot. I then switched it to a 2100mA charger and it works fine and isn't touchy at all now. So you need to have the right amperes to take full advantage of the charging distance.

She's been using the wireless charger since a week after Christmas and has had zero problems with it. After a full day, when she sets the phone on the wireless charger, it will normally be at about 70% charged and within a few hours it will say "charged" meaning it's at 100% charged.

The Fatboy Charging Pillow works great with the 920. I'm using a Casemate Tough Case, and I don't need to remove it to charge.

I see that case isn't in the WPCentral Store anymore, so I'm glad I ordered when I did!
