Installation problems

I have an HTC HD2, running Windows Mobile 6.5. In the last few days, several applications that I installed and ran previously , with no problems, have refused to run, with the message "try reinstalling or restoring this file". When I try reinstalling, using exactly the same procedure I used successfully before (running the .CAB file), I now get the message "Installation of ... was unsuccessful", with no clue as to why. Anyone have any ideas what to do about this? Thanks.
