I am not able to rollback my Lumia 1520 to 8.1 from the W10M Insider Preview builds; Windows Device Recovery Tool says firmware is not available for my device.

So I did a soft reset while plugged in to WDRT and the software offered to install firmware meant for RM-937, but my device is a RM-938. I know it is RM-938 because I am getting 4G bands on T-Mobile. I had a RM-937 in the past and could only get Edge, sometimes H+ depending on the area.

So would installing RM-937 firmware onto a RM-938 Lumia 1520 brick my device?

I would not do it.

Try this alternate method: http://www.lumiafirmware.com/

Navigate to your device firmware in the left panel and see the flashing tutorial in the lower right pane.

Edit: Wow they reworked the look of the site. Everything is much more clearly laid out.

I tried using that before the layout change. The problem is I have conflicting product codes for my device. Can the product code be found inside the settings of the phone?
