International RM875 Version LTE not working with T-Mobile

Hi,i have the RM875 intl Lumia 1020 i bought in Costa Rica,since i don,t want the AT+T US version i stated to person in electronics store and he gave me the 2 designations RM875=intl.RM877=AT+T.He had to cut my sim card to make it work because it takes a so called micro sim,that is my Costa Rica sim.He also turned off the mobile data since i said i don,t have a data package he said the phone will be constantly online if not and my money i put in will run out fast.When i got back to NY i went to T-Mobile and they gave me a T-Mobile microsim and showed me how to turn data back on since i have unlimited data with them.The phone is awesome fast,easy to navigate,etc.Only thing i see is when online and just as person in store said it,s online quite a bit-Facebook,Accuweather,etc.is the LTE symbol does not come on,but the E symbol does which i read in manual means EDGE.Is that another name for LTE or is it another band?

It's not another name for LTE. E is 2g sorry.

The 875 doesn't have LTE band 2 and 4 which is what T mobile uses. The Rogers/Telus variant has these bands.
