Hi I bought this 520 international factory unlocked version from Amazon.com. When I turn it on. it show AT&T logo. the phone is unlocked, but I don't think is factory unlocked!. Now I have a problem, when I try to do internet sharing, use the phone as a hot spot. It tell me to goto ATT.com or call 611 to enable this device for tethering. I live in Jamaica, I use Digicel in Jamaica. I don't have account with AT&T, so how can I do this without AT&T? any help be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Thank you, but that is not an option for me as I live in Jamaica. The cost to returned it may cost me the same as I bought it. so I have to find a different way to deal with this problem, the phone has a reset feature, it suppose to return the phone to factory setting. does that help? or it still won't clear the ATT&T thing? I have some apps and information in the phone that I don't want to lost if the result won't help. Thanks

Re: Internet sharing? (SOLVED)

Hi, I had the Internet Sharing issue with my Unlocked Nokia Lumia 822 (Carrier: Verizon), Now I?m able to share my 3G connection with other devices. Below are the steps to activate internet sharing.

1> Make sure internet sharing works on the same sim on other devices (any Model/Make)
2> Download Access Point app from the link below.
3> Settings > access point > Add ( you might be already having 1 access point setting )
4> Give any name like "ap1" and in "Access Point Name" copy data from the previous access point.
5> Activate by selecting it (Now you got 2 access points)
6> Restart device
7> Settings > internet sharing > toggle

My Phone details are
Lumia 822 unlocked - Current Carrier: Airtel (India) 3G - Windows Phone 8.1

access point | Windows Phone Apps+Games Store (United States)

Doesn't work without reboot, will try that and maybe ATT is like other carriers where LTE and 4G have different settings from 3G

Reboot didn't fix it did check that my settings were right on my account with ATT rep, rebooted several more times, still no dice 🎲

Restored to 8 using Nokia recovery. Everything was good again. Upgraded and still good, heist don't hard reset on 8.1 and you're fine.
