Is 1520 still worth buying?

I say yes. I had to replace my out of commission 1520.3 and I just bought a green refurbished one today on eBay for around $250.00. I was going to wait for the 640xl to hold me over until whatever xl comes out this fall, but once I found 1520's for around the same price, to me its not even close. for the same money as a new 640xl, I much rather a refurbished 1520. it just not even close. I can't downgrade. going from a 1520.3 to a AT&T is about as far as I'm willing to go.

Absolutely. When I was on the TP, the phantom touches were gone. The snail pace screen rotation courtesy of Denim was also greatly reduced.
