So, I've been using my friends old Lumia 929 for a little over a month now. He has since moved onto a galaxy S4, and I asked if I could use his old Lumia 920 so I can see if I liked windows phone. With 8.1, I think I want to own a windows phone device, even if it just as a second device to use at home on wifi.

He's selling the phone for $150 and I'm wondering if that's a good deal? The phones in pretty good shape outside of the bottom right corner of the phone being a bit dented. (maybe from a drop? Don't know, was there when he first gave it to me)

I know att is offering a refurbished 925 for 80 dollars off contract. Is that a better deal?

Get the refurbished one. You'll have support too from AT&T if anything goes wrong.
But 150 for an unlocked device is a pretty good deal.

Is it locked to AT&T, or is it unlocked? That affects the value, but either way $150 is quite high. You mentioned a cosmetic blemish. I'd say maybe $75 if locked, and $100 if unlocked. Either way, if you can buy a refurbished 925 for $80 that would be a much better deal.

Locked as far as I know. Honestly I'm not seeing that refurbished lumia 925 on the AT&T site anymore off contract for 79.99. Might be over :(

The blemish isnt gigantic. It's just the corner is bent up some. I'm unsure if he'll go lower than 150

If he won't go lower I'd look around. For $150 you should be able to get a 920 in mint condition with lots of accessories.

you could always get a replacement body, change the color too while you're at it if you're feeling like some DIY.

Around $120-$150ish...

On eBay, they are going for around $140ish. Even on Swappa, they are going for around that price. I recently got one for $135 in very good condition. The ones in the 120ish range had dents and scratches on the screen.
