I've been banned with no notice?

onedrummer, I'll be honest with you. You are one of a couple people here that I would have guessed would get banned sooner than later. While you are certainly allowed to have an opinion, a lot of your posts come off as attacking and hateful.
Perhaps I've missed where onedrummer overstepped the line, but I see him as a thoughtful and passionate technology enthusiast. He not only has ideas, but goes the extra mile to creates mock ups and detail concepts. He contributes a lot more to this community than myself and most other members. I'm not sure you can make the case that his presence is a net negative.

So you felt entitled to make another account?
Entitled? Of course not. Why would I make an account nearly identical to my own if I was really trying to evade the ban hammer again? What I did feel is that I wanted to figure out why I was banned and how to reverse it. I didn't realize I could still post from this account and so I made another one.

Thank you, I appreciate the kind words. Mase182937 is probably referring to my post about Paul Acevedo's habit of inserting movie criticism into his announcement of new apps that I find distasteful. I addressed the issue in the comments, private message and finally in a forum post and have vented my frustration. I plan on writing an email to Daniel Rubino once I find the time, but we'll see how that goes.
Mase182937 was one who if I remember correctly has already been rude to me in the past, so I wouldn't doubt that he'd expect me to get banned. I'll go check my post history and edit this post if I'm incorrect but I do remember his avatar and negative comments. Thanks again for the kindness, I really appreciate it.

Edit: After checking my post history, mase did call my concept "useless" and myself "crazy" but he was not overtly rude, so I do take that back.

I had my ambassador role removed because I reported a post and said a remark that wasn't so kind. I did what was asked of me about apologizing. I was genuine as I meant ever word and never said anything public. I have moved on from it, They are strict here I rarely read the comments but we do need to keep things civil around here. At the end of the day we are all human, sometimes we make mistakes but we need to treat each person with respect. (I didn't do this privately via report a post function).

I will probably never be an ambassador for the site again even thou I wanted to be. I ruined my chance and learned my lesson. What the outcome of this has been really is that I only come to the forums if I have a reason to. I do skim over the main page every few days. For the OP, just make sure you keep things civil if they do let you post again. There is no reason to troll (if that is what you were doing) or insult others. As a mentor of mine once said: "Attitude is everything"

mase did call my concept "useless"
Make no mistake, I have been rather critical of many of your concepts myself. I think we have differing takes on interfaces and aesthetics, so I certainly do not agree with many choices you make in your concepts. However, conflicting opinions are what breed discussion, and what keeps the community vibrant and interesting. There are ideas that you posted which I would never have come up with, because I simply do not think that way. And if everything posted on the forum was exactly in line with what I think with no alternative opinions levelled at my good and bad posts alike, then it would be one, big, boring echo chamber that even I would get bored of. Opposing viewpoints make me put more thought into a topic, and hopefully as a result, I will either better my ideas, or open up my mind to another, perhaps superior angle.

This is hard and is something that we all struggle with, but I think both members and staff alike could benefit from embracing critique. There's no reason to jump the shark when faced with criticism aimed at your mobile platform of choice, or at much at all really. I know some people perceive(d) me to be a Nokia ****** due to some criticism I've had for HTC and Samsung. Yet the smartphone I use has gone from HTC, to Samsung, and now back to HTC again. Sometimes people are trolls, but sometimes they are just wanting something better and making their voice heard.

I am not sure what's going on with comments you need to contact DPR to get that worked out. I will need to delete your duplicate account. Sooner not later. Send me a PM now from your primary account so I know you can log in with it. You can continue this discussion using your primary account.

Somebody finally got around to reading your posts. Or...there were a lot of complaints behind the scenes. I've gotten warnings for calling trolls trolls, and for shooting back at a-holes that like to push people's buttons on forums.

May I add to this : Yes, you do get warned and even suggested via a quote if its your first time "We don't call trolls, trolls". This is one of the forum rules that both lovers and haters should respect. Doesn't matter what you find other person's opinion is - good, bad, ugly, hateful, report the post and trust me mods will be on that case till it's been resolved either way. That is one of the ways WPCentral is different from many other forums and making better internet. What you think of as "troll" or "a-hole" is still a person on the other side of computer and needs to be respected for asserting their opinions as much as you think you should. Well, at least I see it that way. However, if you think there are users who are disrupting a community spirit we have around or are just here with an agenda, let moderators know by reporting a post and sit back and see the magic happen!

Moderators cannot moderate posts by each of the 5,500 that are on average online and posting on this forum every single minute, but surely if things are flagged, they can be dealt with and will be dealt with.

OP, sorry for this off-topic post, but there isn't much newer information I can add here, mostly you've been answered and/or directed.

You may use this link here to contact Daniel Rubino. I'm going to be honest with you right now tho, it may have been as a result of the recent thread you posted against Paul Acevedo. So either he saw it and decided to ban you or you said something in the comments he didn't like which in turn caused the ban. If that's the case the odds of the ban being removed are slim but its worth a try tho.

Hey, so I finally got a chance to be on the desktop, and it's telling me I'm not authorized to view that page you linked.

You got me. I click on the link and get the same thing. But it has log in up top. I log in and then see the info.

It just refreshes the page when I click log in, which I think is due to me being banned. So, I can't work with you guys because you didn't ban me, and I can't contact Daniel Rubino because I'm banned. What should I do? Is there an email address I can just use from my own email account?

Well, after reading this thread I can say I have learned A LOT about WPcentral and life in general :D
