Latest Samsung Ativ S firmware updates

But is the 8.1 GDR2 firmware specialy made just for Lumia Phones, its just a OS?

Samsungs last firmware update has the number 2424.15.3.2 - for WP 8.1

Lumia denim (Nokia) and Fw 2424.15.3.2 (Samsung) are firmwares.

8.1 GDR2 is an OS build that works great on 2424.15.3.2 fw, but Samsung didn't release it officially.

Did you guys see that Bootloader unlock? Imagine the possibilities if it gets ported to Ativ S :O We can get custom ROM win10 or even Android :O

But I don't know why it is not available for the Ativ S.

I'm tempted by the Lumia 950. Plus, I'm from France and I received the Insider offer. But it's still 600€ and I'd like my Ativ S to last at least 3 years (February 2016).
But I think the big problem is that I'll only be back in France by the end of December.

I won't get any Windows phone as a next phone. Got quite disappointed in Microsoft so i will go with either Apple or some higher end Android. :/

Yes I did. I upgraded from 10586.11 to 10586.29 with simple registry tweak.

I go to Settings/Updates/For Developers and Enabled Developer mode (last option). Then with Windows Phone Apllication Deployment 8.1 (same tool for Win 8.1 to Win 10 upgrade) I deployed RootTool.xap and open Root Tool app that appears. Go to Samsung Registry Editor and select 3rd option (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE) and write:

1st textbox for path: SYSTEM\Platform\DeviceTargetingInfo
2nd textbox for key: PhoneManufacturer
3rd textbox for value: NOKIA



Then go to Windows Insider and select Fast Ring and that's it. Update to latest 10586.29 version.

Link for download RootTool.xap: Go to XDA Developers and open "Interop Unlock for Windows 10 Mobile + All Capabilities". That file is in attachment in the first post. (I can't paste link because I don't have enough posts here)

Disappointed about everything. I never really used Onedrive so i don't care at all about it. My Ativ S became laggy and the OS is getting uglier and uglier. Many features missing and i won't even talk about the app gap.

So basically you feel dissapointed because a 2012 device feels a bit slow in a 2016 S.O. Ok. GL with android, you will need it... LOL.
