You should get the glance screen visible by waving your hand over the upper part of the device.

However, very often my phone seems to be in deep sleep and doesn't give a **** even if I wave my hand several times. Eventually, it wakes up though. But very slowly. Have you noticed the same phenomenon?

I have noticed the same thing myself. I'm not as patient as you are though. If it doesn't wake up after I do the hand movement twice, I just start tapping it continuously. haha

Sometimes, in the middle of the night I would just like to see the clock, but the phone is in deep sleep and glance won't wake up...

Change glance mode from peek to always on for checking time during the night. It really doesn't seem to affect battery endurance much.
