List here what you DO NOT like on 8.1.

I hate that the Calendar week begins on Monday and ends the following Sunday, with no setting to change to starting on Sunday.

Oh hell, you're right.

It's getting the "designed completely by metrics and engineers" feel to it (no offense, engineers) which is already out there in a far more capable OS (Android).
I think MS has gutted, dispersed, and done away with a lot of their design talent (Zune, both hardware and software, Media Center, WP7, heck even projects that didn't launch like the notebook thingy) and replaced it with this.

android and ios have that already... not just ridiculous shortcuts !!! A mess

That applies only for one and I repeat ONE of the toggles. The WiFi one. Everything else is a toggle.
You do realize that Micrsoft cannot force facebook to remain inn the people hub. Facebook requested it to be removed not "they". Capacitative keys always being on? Um what... If you mean the vibration options being taken out, it'd probably be reinstated with Cyan. This is the generic non manufacturer optimized update. I never used that anyway. Games being in app list...so what? Anyway, you've "heard" wrong, must not have read any reviews on the internet have you? Windows Phone 8.1 review | The Verge
Windows Phone 8.1 review: A magnificent smartphone platform | Ars Technica
This is the thread for whiners, everything still works (Except music which works fine for me now). It's better. I don't see any mess...tbh. I like the new People Hub. More useful than the other one (I always had facebook disabled so...YMMV).

So far .. My only complaints are the photo hub, wish it go back to old version. Also the notification center is a bit laggy when I try to pull it down 👇 EVERYTIME..becaue that two stage action center+ notifications center... Wish it was just one swipe to avoid this small lag ( and its on 2 devices I tried so its not my phone I think ).

Could it be that the final commercial version will be different? From what I read most things are horrible and suck then :$ !!...
From what you read on the "Why I hate Windows phone 8.1 thread" , of course you'd get a negative view. The ones who aren't posting are busy enjoying it. Me? I'm just bored lol

No Cortana through Bluetooth. . Action center should be switches instead of taking me into another menu.

I don't understand these complaints. Cortana works in BT for me (I assume it is her at least!) just fine, it's great when driving that I can finally ask for directions by voice. Action center IS switches, except for the odd WiFi behavior where it is a switch when you turn ON, but not OFF. BT, Internet Sharing, Rotation Lock are the other three I use and they are switches.

Why can't the Music/Video/FM/Podcast Hub not be a system app? That's PR "logic", not actual logic.
I can't be the only one who remembers Joe Belfiore talk about how they were making things like hubs, maps and IE modular in WP8 so that MS could update those separately without a full system update? They've only managed to make Maps somewhat modular (maps can be updated by not the app).

Skype updated for me today, as did some other apps. Hopefully that helps in terms of integration.

I do not like the way they moved/changed Background Tasks. I like the additional functionality, but they should have added it to what was already there.

Before, when apps could run in the background they were at the top of the list with accent color "Allowed" text under their name. Very handy. I could always tell when FB updated because it would change its setting and allow itself and then start humping my battery like that dog your uncle forgot to neuter.

Now you get to search around, scroll around, try to figure out wtf is going, if it's going to do anything, get distracted by notifications, etc etc. Must've been coded by the Music app interns in their 20% time.

Haha, brilliant!
Fully agreed re background tasks. Definitely preferred it the way it was. Far too cumbersome now.

They have, hes not taking about upload pic your taking, its pics you have saved on your phone/screenshots/whatsapp pic/etc
When you clicked share you could have it upload straight to onedrive. now you cant. You ahve to use the onedrive app which sux.
one drive has no multiple file uplaod selection

Change!!!!

Eeek!!!

Yeah, add me to the list of people annoyed at how the Me Tile just became useless, but otherwise, I'm loving this release.

I tried starting a "what I like about 8.1" thread, but obviously people have more complaints than compliments.

But, in a snakier mood, and because they seem to be de-emphasizing the hubs, I will heretofore refer to Windows Phone as

WINDROID.

Was wondering how come I couldn't use Facebook/Twitter in the people Hub then I realized I needed to log into my accounts again. Now they work fine, messaging and checking in.

So I have to connect it all again to use messaging with Facebook?

STILL no ability to set static IP addresses. I don't know what Microsoft's fascination is with DHCP, it's been a pain on both Windows 8/8.1 (no ability to set DHCP or Static IP per access point, have to change it all the old fashioned way through device properties) and my Xbox One to set static IPs, and then WP8/8.1 doesn't even allow you to do anything but DHCP. Pretty stupid.

Set your router to always assign the same IP?

Why dont you set your Router to assign the same address to your phone via MAC address?
