List here what you DO NOT like on 8.1.

Use the people hub for that.

I have been and it sucks.
You can only get options once someone is in your call history.

Before I used to be able to make a call hit phone book icon and be able to edit or send message.

Contemplating whether to add people to my start screen where as before I didn't

Really miss the old social apps integration. This was one of the reasons I chose WP, but now I have to open that clunky and not so good looking app.. Slightly disappointed.

Why even "fix" something that ain't broken? Microsoft should revert back the integration as well as the Photos hub.

But did you even try it???? This is just plain WRONG dude. Please please please TRY SOMETHING before you post about it.

This is in response to the guy who said the OneDrive and FB apps are launched from the Photos hub. They are not.

Nothing huge, just a little nitpick:

Can't uninstall games from the Games hub...has to be done from the "all apps" list.

That plus the "putting the games into the 'all apps' list" in the first place.

I hate that the Calendar week begins on Monday and ends the following Sunday, with no setting to change to starting on Sunday.

Features have been messed with that should have been left alone.

Phone (cant send a message or edit contact from within app can only call person)
People (no longer integrated into phone see above)
I preferred the old layout of the photos hub. The new layout is a bit clunky.

There was nothing wrong with the 8.0
Phone, People, Messaging and Photos.

Hopefully they can revert back in future updates.

These arent hard things to do so I hope they concentrate on fixing these issues for us before they decide to roll out/glorify new features for 8.1

Plus if you hit bluetooth in the notifications it doesnt take you to the bluetooth settings unlike the wifi which does. (minor but it should be sorted)

Makes me wonder sometimes how testers get chosen because basic stuff like the bluetooth issue should have ben caught.

I have not done a phone reset so maybe some of these lil probs might clear up.

I'm confused, do you want a toggle for the WiFi or settings for the Bluetooth?

i was just about to smoke my friends iphone by posting a quick update to my facebook, twitter, and linkedin accounts simultaneously when i realized i installed 8.1 on my phone today and can no longer do that. :.. ......

SMOKED BY 8.1

edit: caps

Looks like they removed the One Drive share option under photos. Now I have to go to one drive and upload photos from there only?

Not on mine (L928). Under Photos > Settings > Auto Upload is set to OneDrive > turned on

It is now a separate app called FM Radio, WTF?
1. Video scrub was only added to Xbox video, not to the general media player that YouTube or other sites use. Video scrub is nonexistent. Little 30 second skipped that make it lock up doesn't count as scrub.

2. Can't attach office files to emails
3. Can't manage office files in folders. I have many many projects. I can't just leave all these spreadsheets loose in the same folder.
4. Cortana is not as good as I thought she would be. No jokes for me. No chit chat. Just Siri with a different name.
5. Fm radio doesn't work. Just static. Is this a firmware issue?
6. Games in the applist.
7. Barcode scanning in the camera?
8. Generally speaking, I don't like that I am not able to impress any of my iPhone friends. Fix that pleeeeeaaaaase.

Oh, I do like the swipe keyboard. That's as close as I've gotten to impressing anyone.

I spent all day yesterday using WP 8.1 on my 820, and apart from the abysmal music experience (which I complained about all day), I found there are definite perks with this update. Namely, the constant status icons and the notification center. But these things are so boring considering that it was a feature originally baked into Android about five years ago. Same goes for the keyboard improvement. Word Flow is awesome, although it makes no sense to have deactivated the ability to add words to the dictionary.

hello can anyone confirm with the issue I'm facing with my lumia 720 ..the bluetooth icon not showing up at top while switched on.... Im not whining about the issue just want to know if anyone facing the same ... :)

anybody confirm please if its a issue or not :(
Ok got it now, when it's connected then it shows up there, when just turned on it doesn't.

A quote from pocketnow.com about music hub

"Thankfully, Microsoft has informed us that it will bring this particular Live Tile back in the future. Unfortunately, the Hub itself won?t be making a return ?Microsoft split up the various audio apps to make them easier to update without the requirement of a full system upgrade? but at least the Live Tile will (eventually) come back."

Why can't the Music/Video/FM/Podcast Hub not be a system app? That's PR "logic", not actual logic.

WP8.1 has me looking into iOS and Android for the first time 3+ years...

*shudder*

I do not like the way they moved/changed Background Tasks. I like the additional functionality, but they should have added it to what was already there.

Before, when apps could run in the background they were at the top of the list with accent color "Allowed" text under their name. Very handy. I could always tell when FB updated because it would change its setting and allow itself and then start humping my battery like that dog your uncle forgot to neuter.

Now you get to search around, scroll around, try to figure out wtf is going, if it's going to do anything, get distracted by notifications, etc etc. Must've been coded by the Music app interns in their 20% time.

Not on mine (L928). Under Photos > Settings > Auto Upload is set to OneDrive > turned on

I think this complaint is meant for when trying to share a photo (like in an email, message, etc, used to have Skydrive/Onedrive as an option, now you have to go in the app).

Could it be that the final commercial version will be different? From what I read most things are horrible and suck then :$ !!...

I can't believe they took Facebook OFF the People's HUB, wasn't it one of their key features? And is it true the capacitive keys will always be on , no way to disable them? What is this mess of having the games on the Apps list? A mess!! ... I am scared this is more of a mess that a good thing tbqh... I was so happy but reading all this , it's like they sold BS to us and we're just gettin' a background option, some "toggles" on the Action Center (which I've read aren't even off or on directly, they're just shortcuts to the page where you change the settings) and that's it... WHAT A MESS!

No Cortana through Bluetooth. Don't think Cortana will be helpful to me. Action center should be switches instead of taking me into another menu. Want more control over the OS, guess I'm still a big fan of windows mobile. Wish the dialer came up when going to make a call instead of recent call log. Need less tapping to get where we want to be on the phone
