List here what you DO NOT like on 8.1.

Right... Do you not think that if you get a notification, say from WhatsApp, and you open it from the Action Centre that you'd want the live tile (and lock screen) notitication to disappear, and vice versa? It just annoys me that I have to see the notification, then re-open the app to clear the notification from the live tile/lock screen, or clear it from the Action Centre despite you already having seen it... Or is it just me?

I'm pretty sure that is exactly how it is supposed to work. Clearing the notification from the action center should remove the notification on the live tile as well, and vice versa. I would imagine that most apps will have to be updated to make that come to fruition.

You are not alone, I hate when it (whatsapp msg) still hangs up in/on notification center after I already have read it

Does Cortana have to have the location GPS on to work at all? My power lasts 1/3 longer when the location setting is off. I only have a Lumia 521 with a small removable battery. Help a brother out!

Oh, and why do I have a games hub if all my games are listed in my APP list? FAIL!!! (BTW, they are still listed in the game hub two)

Nope, not anymore. I got an update for Games today and there's nothing listed in the hub anymore, it's completely unusable. Now they're all just in the app list. Cool solution.

That's weird. I only own a couple of games but they are listed in the updated games hub.

I'm getting really annoyed with this developer preview. Like none of my apps are working in the background. Not getting any facebook notifications (action center or live tile). Weather tile(s) aren't updating either. I have them allowed in the battery saver and everything but nothing. 'bout to reset this freakin' thing. I've noticed a significant battery drain too (1020/at&t) since I updated.

that's probably not the fault of the update. It happens a lot of times in 8.0 too, is happening with my 520 on 8.0 update 3 at present. The best way is to do a soft reset, ir wont delete anything, try it, it helps a lot in such cases. I've done that many times. It just happens, no big deal.
Also, you should uninstall the fb beta and install the store version to be able to use fb properly in 8.1..

You can still revert back to 8.0 on your phone if you not are satisfied with the preview 8.1 just use Nokia recovery tool to flash your phone.

Change!!!!

Eeek!!!

Yeah, add me to the list of people annoyed at how the Me Tile just became useless, but otherwise, I'm loving this release.

I tried starting a "what I like about 8.1" thread, but obviously people have more complaints than compliments.
No big surprise there. People tend to gravitate more to the negative than the positive. When something works, most people don't find much motivation to chime in, but let there be a problem.... You get the idea.

I've tried soft resets and i uninstalled the FB beta since I HAD to install and use the other one.

Right... so I've found to nitpicks. I don't like how they've moved the end call button. I tend to hold my phone higher up, and reaching down to end calls feels kinda odd. I also feel like the music hub removed some functionality when changing tracks. I can no longer swipe to the side to change to the next song. Granted it appears my duplicate song issue has been fixed, so I'll call it a fair trade off.

Im starting to think some of the changes were to make it more in line with how Android/iOS does things because in WP sometimes things were done 'differently' (due to bad implementations or limitations or it HAD to be done the 'WP way'. And now that its changes to the 'android/ios way' everyones mad cuz they got used to how it was done in WP.

Of course we get mad. It was better in the Windows Phone way.

I think people are jumping the gun on a lot of things. We'll see how every thing works once apps are updated and manufacturers/carriers implement their firmware to go with the OS. I expect a lot of changes in the apps like, Games, Music, Videos, Facebook, etc. before the update is rolled out to the masses. It's really hard to judge at the moment whether people are overreacting or not. Maybe some of the complainers are expecting a little too much before they even see the end product. I know this update is, technically, complete, but that doesn't mean changes and enhancements can't be rolled out by release.

I'm not saying that all is rainbows and lollipops or that everyone will be happy, but people should at least realize that this isn't quite complete yet, and certain complaints may be being addressed even before this preview was released. We really won't know until we know.

Sooooo agree with this one. The Facebook integration was one of the best features for me.
I was a big fan also. Was something I used quite a lot. I think we'll have to wait and see once apps are updated/released if anything changes or it remains as crippled as it is now.

I keep hearing about this issue (I never used it, but that's beside the point), but maybe it got removed because of Facebook? They did just release their own "OS" (even if it wasn't that successful), but maybe while they were messing with it, they asked Microsoft to get rid of the feature? Just saying, this might not be Microsoft's call altogether. We don't know there full story, and there's probably one here.
