List here what you DO NOT like on 8.1.

All I can say is thank the gods I was able to upgrade my phone, and now I'm back to good ol' 8.0. And I'm staying there. And to all the folks who are happy with 8.1, I am sincerely happy for you. But to knock those of us who aren't, is just plain wrong. Its not the bugs, as that's to be expected w/o matching firmware. It's the removal of beloved features, or needless changes that have us bummed. The added features, such as the Action Center, Cortana, sharing WiFi, start screen pics, and a few others are awesome. We just feel that they should have been added to what we already had. I personally, would rather do w/o them and keep the ones I know and love, since I've been without them this long. Everyone enjoy the Windows Phone version that suits you best, and for those celebrating, have a happy Easter. For those not, enjoy the rest of your weekend.

OK, bye.

1) There is no option to save photos to OneDrive in the photos hub
2) Lack of cellular data toggle
3) Lack of flashlight toggle
4) Wi-Fi button on the action centre is not a toggle, but a shortcut to Wi-Fi settings
5) Music hub is terrible
6) Still no smart dialing
7) Tabs in IE keep shifting positions. The active tab keeps going to the first position, making the other tabs shift positions all the time.

Can anyone else confirm that the app list index letters no longer only appear after you install X amount of apps but instead are enables right away by default? This was one of the nice touches of WP where if you choose not to have a lot of apps installed your app list could be kept short and manageable. The index letters add 26 spaces.

Dumping all notifications instead of just providing the summary item with count. There is no need for me to see 12 WPCentral notifications as individual list items.

Another thing to add to my list of disappointments is this freakin' wi-fi. It keeps like disconnecting me. I'll connect to my home network and it'll say 'secure.'
I'll check it later and the wifi icon isn't at the top of the screen and when I pull it down, the wifi shortcut says 'limited' and when I go to the wifi page, it says 'no internet access.'
So I have disconnect and reconnect again like 5 times a day. really pissing me off.

Pretty sure I didn't say I was going anywhere. Its dbags like u I was referring to. (smh)

So you go on a rant about not wanting to use WP81 and how you "upgraded to WP8" and I tell you good bye (since unless I can't read this forum clearly has a WP81 title) and you get pissy?

Hum, that one is weird. And all other devices remain with internet access?

The first day I installed WP81 it would do the same but to all my devices so I am sure it was just a bad internet connection that day. Hasn't happened since.

Nimdock- To each their own. It makes you look more like a child for laughing at him and insulting him for his opinions and preferences. I don't agree with him either, but I'm not going to go out of my way to insult the guy. Have some manners.

HM02 - Can't say for sure that your issue is WP8.1 related. My wifi has stayed connected since I upgraded earlier this week. (Lumia 920 Dev Unlocked)

Matter of taste, I actually like individual notifications.

You come off with this "works for me, sucks for you" attitude, which makes you look like an A-hole. Instead of the responses you tend to give off, why not try giving suggestions, alternate options... You know, help.

Some comments on some of your points.

1. That one will come with an upgrade to the app.
3. As far as I remember that has always been handled through an app. I don't see the need for a built in feature for this but everyone wil have their own taste on the matter I guess.
4. It is a toggle to turn on and I like that but I agree it should probably be a toggle to turn off and a hold to go to the wifi settings.
5. Well, they have announced plenty of updates for it so we can expect it to improve a lot.
7. Yes, I don't know why they changed the mechanism since most (all?) browsers open the newest tab at the end. I would like this reverted. If not, one more thing to get used to.

I suggest you read my post history. There are plenty of times where I agree with an annoyance. In fact I have expressed plenty of my own in this thread.

But if you don't like something and I do should I not express it? Are you serious?

There are plenty of times that I don't like something and other people have told me they prefer it that way so it is a matter of taste. Doesn't mean I have to lament about it, they like it and I don't so that's that.

Sure buddy. The "upgrade to WP8" is a classic troll comment and I am the child. Also, insulting? OK then!!

I am not saying don't express it, I am saying you do it in a "works for me, sucks for you" attitude. I am not trying to argue with you, I am just pointing out what I notice, what other people may notice as well. You can either sit back and see what I am saying or do as you do.

Like I said, not trying to argue, just pointing out what I see.

Thanks for the input.

I will stick to my guns though. Saying to someone that some things are a matter of preference and I like them some other way is not telling them sucks to be you.

I updated my Lumia 810 to 8.1 on Friday. It's no longer my daily driver, so I've been using it on Wi-Fi only and sporadically. So far, what I'm seeing that I don't like is: apparently, the update to 8.1 killed the artist images I added to the music hub with MPAtool. This morning, I've been trying to get it back, but the images just won't attach to the artists now. The other thing is that, from what I can tell, "Background tasks" disappeared from Settings - so I can't tell what apps are running in the background.

Yes, unfortunately that has been lost.

Microsoft already announced an update for the Music app and supposedly more updates are coming in a bi-weekly basis so we can only hope it improves fast. They even set up a feedback page for the Music app.

Supposedly they are bringing back the artist in the live tile and the lock screen. I don't know however if that will allow us to use MPAtool again or if it will have to be updated to deal with the new system (or even if it will be able to).

Definitely, stick to your guns. I am glad we both didn't go overboard. I look forward to more debates and thought sharing in the future.
