By removing the Music Hub, Windows Phone lost the 'Now Playing' functionality.
Try this:
Launch a streaming app, say Mix Radio or Songza. Now, wait until the screen times out, the screen blinks off, but the music continues playing.
Now, unlock your phone, and go to the start screen-------can anyone tell which app is actually playing the current music?
Nope. That's gone. You have the split second of the song title and artist as soon as you unlock the phone, dropping in from the top, before it goes away, and that's it.
So, the notification/Action Center, really, really, REALLY needs a Now Playing action item, for media, just like in the Android notification center, that's granually controllable.
