Just picked up a 640 for my wife, after almost 4 years with the same feature phone. This is her first smartphone. At first the touchscreen seemed faulty. Very laggy and had all kinds of typing errors. I thought I got a dud. Then I simply restarted the phone and it's been perfect. That made me realize...how many people are having issues before even having performed the first restart??

Don't understand why a brand new phone would need a restart to work properly. Neither my 640 or 640 XL needed one, nor have any other of my new phones in the past.

Hello guys,

I got a new L640. I was trying out camera (Lumia Camera App) when i stumbled on Lumia Moments. So I enabled it. The feature is good, but my problem is that the Pictures which i take in my camera are a bit dull. Its all well till you click to capture the image. But when you click on the viewer circle to see what you have captured, then first a video plays for almost half a sec (Lumia moment) and the the videos pauses and you get the image. But it looks more like Video is playing. Pause. Apply "Dull, off colour and what not Filter" and Voila. You have your image.

I tried Rich capture only to find the same result with image being little vivid and quite off coloured.

What you see on screen is different and what you get after clicking is different.(It's ok, it must be same case with other mobiles and their cameras too) but it feels like deceiving. If the Video part in Lumia Moment can show Better colour reproduction (although lower quality) then why can't same continue with the image itself too?!!

Hmmm May be i am overreacting. But that's what I thought.

Have you tried different camera apps, such as Camera360 Sight? Also how's the lighting? Are you in a low light situation? There's a thread going around about some tips about shooting in lowlight situations: http://forums.windowscentral.com/lu...-images-low-light-auto-mode-lumia-640-xl.html

No. I haven't tried different camera apps yet. Will try now. Lighting is okay-ish. Neither too bright nor too dim. I tried exterior shot (Cloudy day due to rainy season)s as well as interior shots (in night as well as daytime with optimum lighting).

Actually what I was thinking is that it might not be a defect but Its just the way it is. All L640 will be similar.

Thanks for the link for improving photography. Images do get pretty noisy in low light conditions. I will play with those settings mentioned and will see if it changes anything. Or may be I am asking for too much.

And yeah surprisingly even I can't find how to turn Living Images off.

You're welcome. I think the living images might have a hand there too. As for how to turn it off, press the gear symbol at the bottom right hand corner and then swipe over to photo. There you'll see the option to turn it off

hi , help plz
my lumia 640 have some problems with memry card
when I put memory card in the phone after a while it says memory card needs fixing and it repeats this message again after fixing the problems and keeps saying this until makes the memory card unusable.
I tried reseting phone , and no result
now my memory card is not formattable even in pc

I had the same problem with one of our 640s and a Sandisk 32GB card. I gave up and haven't tried it in the other phone or a different brand.

Hello guys,

When I access Store, I often get either "Can't connect. We are having trouble connecting to search at the moment....... "

OR

"There has been a problem completing your request. Try again later.

This error code may be helpful: 805a0193"

This problem comes mostly when connected to Cellular. In WiFi, Store works fine "most of the time".

What should I do? I saw same problem but it used to appear long time ago. Suggestions other than Factory Reset is preferred. (Don't want to go in that hassle.)

The internet sharing consistently turns itself off after maybe a couple of hours This is very disruptive because I have a phone dedicated to providing an access point at home. Any ideas on how to fix this?

My Lumia 640XL Glance screen clicks

Hi guyz, i got another problem in my phone since the last night unfortunately. the problem is that whenever we turn of the glance screen of our phone and it goes black so there is a minor click like sound in it that can be heard. so since last night this click isn't working i mean there isn't any kind of sound of that click which it used to do before. so any clue or fix if anyone know's what to do with it or how to recover that click sound of it.? i checked it in my settings that sound making button is turned on but still no sound! its' the lumia 640XL

I have these issues with L640 :
• Sometimes when I restart the phone, it stuck on white screen.
• Google account stuck on synching and can’t be removed.

Is there a fix for the crashes of photo app when accessing it via other apps say hike or facebook for changing your profile pictures and stuff

Have problem where I have to set Allow roaming on Data connectiion to ON on Lumia 640 LTE dual SIM whereas my Lumia 820 does not need this setting to get a data connection on 3G H+ when not on WiFi. Network: Telfort NL

On 23 September 2015 Microsoft released an update to the built in system app "Extras & Info" (Ver: 3.15.3.54) which my Lumia 640 is currently attempting to install, but continually fails with an 80004004 error, which doesn't really help me at all.

Has anyone else experienced a similar problem, or can you please tell me how I can resolve this without having to resort to a hard reset?

How can I put a shortcut for keypad on my startscreen ?
Currently , I have to click 'Phone' icon , then click on 'keypad' icon
on the speedDial screen .
