You can buy the 640 right now for $129, can't you?

And how is the service of Ting? Any issues? Talk to me, buddy. Haha

Don't get Crickets 640s to run on a network that runs on T-Mobile because they won't work unless they're unlocked. And Cricket phones aren't unlocked when you buy them. I don't know their policy, but I do know that you would have to be using them for X amount of time on Cricket before they would unlock them for you.

I've been using a 640 Dual Sim on T-Mobile and AT&T for the last month now. I get LTE speeds, Regular 4G, H, and H+ on T-Mobile. I've been happy with the phone and believe it has all the features for 95% of the smartphone users out there. I switched from a 930, because I couldn't bare with the limited H+ only in large metro areas anymore. Though the 930 is a fabulous unit.

I do notice the 640 is slower than the 925 and 930 I have. I also miss some of the features such as visual voicemail.

Purchased on expanses and they also have other affordable lumias, like the 530, 635, and 430.

The 640 is slower? That's surprising because of its quad-core processor. Hmm, maybe it's because it's not a T-Mobile one? Does the dual-SIM version you have include band 12?

The service on Ting is excellent - everything works just peachy once you get the phone configured properly. It's more involved than just popping in the SIM; as I noted before, you have to manually configure some obscure settings to get data and MMS working right. Ting's customer service is second to none, however, so you if you need help it will be there.

Like AT&T does with Cricket, it appears (based on my own casual observation) that T-Mobile is throttling Ting's LTE connection down to somewhere in the 10-12 Mbit/sec range. I may be wrong about that, but I've used this same Lumia 635 on T-Mobile's network and on TMO I regularly got 30+ Mbit/sec in this exact same location. That being said, 10-12 Mbit/sec is more than enough for a Lumia 635 (or 640), and given Ting's usage-based pricing, people who are interested in Ting are probably not looking to blaze through large amounts of data in gargantuan blobs. Those people go to TMO and pay them $80/month for all they can eat.

Here are the specs from Expansys on the Dual Sims version.
Network: 4G: FDD-LTE Band 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/17/20/28, TD-LTE Band 38/40/41* / 3G: 850/900/1900/2100 MHz

I couldn't link, not enough posts on this forum yet.

Not advertising them, just that's how I purchased.

I just got a 735 and it is slow! I still fooling around with it; but it not too fast! It takes time to render some webpages like from Windows Central using the IE browser. It about the same speed as the 521 that I still have and use occasionally. iPhone 6 is probably 5-10X faster at everything, except booting and ending! I just appreciate the iPhone 6 that much more after using the Lumia 735! Sad to say that you get what you pay for! Consumers are not stupid; look at the iPhone 6 U.S. sales figures; they are now close to 50% of all sales in 2015! Not sure that includes bargain basement models however! Worldwide, it about 40% of all phone sales! Dont' know if that includes bargain basement phones. I think it might be phones in it price category but the chart does not say that in details it out!

In other words; it crushing all comers!

Ha!!! I'm not sure, but I think that's definitely in the running for some sort of Internet Comment Award.

Make no mistake about it, the SD400 in this phone is a certifiable, undeniable dog. It's near the bottom of the Snapdragon barrel. The Cortex A7 is just a cheap to make chip, that's why it headlines the $35 Raspberry Pi 2.

The S4 Pro in the 920, 925, 928 & 1020, as well as many an android flagship of that era, was a significantly better chip. It was built around Krait cores, the very same cores that went into the Snapdragon 800, 801 & 805.

I've owned devices with an SD400, an S4Pro and an SD800, so I know from experience where this chip fits in. But don't take my word for it (and I doubt you will), the Spec numbers are out there for all to see.

Absolutely correct, can't compare $120 device to a $900 device on performance.

$900? Umm, me thinks you're off your rocker! :)

There are several comparisons on youtube of the 640 XL (which uses the same chip and amount of RAM) and the 930. The 930 is slightly faster in some, but not all, tasks and situations. The 640 is slightly faster is some, but not most, tasks and situations. Loading some games take longer on the 640 XL, but for the most part doing everything else is toss-up according to the three videos I watched.

Since when? I've had prepaid phones on our postpaid account and never had an issue.
I agree, I have windows and android phones and regularly swap the SIM between them. The SIM doesn't care, nor does Tslo.

I am dropping t-slo though as wife needs to go to UK for a few months and they will not suspend her pre-paid account so they will keep taking the money even though she is not using it.

Not so much the un-carrier, but the un-carer. {sigh} Greedy SOBs.

I have changed her Plan to the 3-bucks a month to minimize the rape.

Oh, come on. Really. T"slo" are greedy SOB's? Compared to what carrier? And why is paying $3/mo so terrible to hold her number? If that's rape, make sure to ask some women who have been raped how they feel about the comparison.

I believe T-Mobile is European company so it would benefit her more for having Tmobile in Europe than lets say Verizon. Both Veri and ATT are US based companies.

Curious, what cell provider suspends service if you decide to take a vacation ? Since she signed some sort a contract ( was she with TM before the no contract phase?) why wouldn't she be obliged to honor it ...just because...she doesn't want to...?
