Lumia 822 - India - 3G & outgoind SMS not working

SMS working fine after Amber update. However, 3G does not work well. It should uninterruptedly provide Data transfer right? Shows only '3G' icon, and data transfer happens for few moments only. Tried both these APN Settings for Airtel :
Old :
APN - airtelgprs.com
Proxy Server (URL) – 202.56.231.117
Proxy Port – 8080

New :
APN – airtelfun.com
Proxy Server (URL) – 100.1.200.99
Proxy Port – 8080

Anyone facing/faced and resolved similar problem?
Please help.

I'm from Venezuela.
I'm going through a similar situation. I'm able to send SMS and to use 3G but 3G or H+ is extremely unstable. In areas where I would easily get full bars of 3G I only get a couple and it takes a while for the phone to change from 2G to 3G or H+. I love this phone but this problem is making me fall out of love with it.

Exactly agree to you, word by word. I actually started to think about changing and going for 925, which is officially released here. But its not 4G.
Now, little glad and hopeful though, to see someone else facing similar problems.

Keep phone on 2G all the time under cellular settings for Call and SMS to work flawlessly. When you want to use data, go to Settings/Cellular/Data Connection and change it to LTE.
I have found this works best on T-Mobile in USA. On LTE, SMS will come in just fine but outgoing SMS may or may not work. On H+ outgoing SMS works on H it does not, on 3G it does not and hence the suggestion to keep connection on 2G by default and switch to LTE if you want to use an app or get access to internet.

Hope this helps. I am stuck with 7 Lumia 822 phones, someone please buy them. Willing to sell them at cost.

I am using both sim cdma and gsm (any one)
in cdma it will work call and sms only
in gsm it will work call sms data

Possible to work data in cdma ?

Really??????????????? good news! but nokia support page doesnt show any detail about 822 for india
Availability in Asia Pacific - Nokia

822 is a model exclusive to the United States. Look for the update under North American; not India.

Ok, a new problem! Recently bought new 822, updated everything, so now it has GDR3 and Lumia Black update. But, 3G won't work. Sometimes, the icon 3G turns into H or H+(after setting an APN), but not consistently working, and hence data transfer occurs rarely. What could I be missing?

I would not worry about that. As far as I understand, the signal strength and quality keeps varying from place to place and also time to time (due to various reasons). Hence you see the icon changing. Unless I see "G" (for GPRS) or "E" (for EDGE), I have usually not faced problems with internet speed.

Well, strange to hear that! I do feel a lot of difference between 3G and E, having used both on my last Lumia 822. Was able to access 3G and H+ quite flawlessly.
