Lumia 920 can't connect 802.11 b

I am trying to connect a wifi which is 802.11 b from my Lumia 920 but the device doesn't even respond. It returns with "no response from the wifi"

The device is Fitbit Aria (Smart weight scale). If I turn on my internet sharing Lumia and run the Fitbit Aria setup software from desktop...there it seem that the Fitbit can't even see\find the Lumia's wifi\hotspot. The hotspot works fine with the laptop.

So my understanding so far:
Phone can see fitbit's wifi but gets no response when I try to connect
Fitibit can't even see the hotspot as wifi

The wifi specs of the fitbit are below:

• Wireless 802.11b
• WEP / WPA / WPA2 personal security
• Scale connect to your wireless home network
• Automatic (DHCP) IP setup (static IP configuration not supported)

I would really appreciate any help!

Yes I sent them an email.

If I connect the wifi (aria's wifi) from the laptop then it connects but if I try from my Lumia then the wifi doesn't respond...
