Hi everyone, I know there a number of threads here and beyond on this subject, but none of them have helped me, so I'm posting again here in hopes that someone may have an idea I haven't tried.

I'm trying to enable a personal gmail account on my Lumia 920 using Exchange ActiveSync. I realize that's a method that's nearly dead, but I need contact details to stay synchronized, without which the phone is pretty useless.

I've tried pretty every fix I've found out there. Two-step verification on and off, the "captcha reset" mentioned in other threads, waiting various amounts of time. No matter what, I just end up with a dead account, showing "Attention Required", and an immediate prompt for UID/PWD.

One more piece of information that drives me crazy: I have a work account, run through google, that works perfectly on the phone. Uses 2-step, app-specific password, and synchs mail, contacts, and calendar with no issue. WHY?

Here are my settings, as specifically as I can present them:
username: myusername@gmail.com (have also tried without domain)
password: most recently app-specific under 2-step verification (also tried it with 2-step off, and the original account password)
domain: have tried blank, google, and aspmx.l.google.com
server: m.google.com

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Delete that account. In Google, disable 2-step verification. Then make the acc again everything u have specified here is correct username@gmail.com, pass, domain and server m.google.com

Thanks, I had already deleted/re-added the account at least a dozen times, including a 2-step test. But did it again, in the spirit of optimism. No luck. (m.google.com and all 3 other domain versions all tried)

I'm having the same problem now, on my Lumia 1020, after having it work flawlessly since the 1020 intro. I have a google apps gmail account (custom domain).

Interesting, because on my phone I also have a custom-domain account, and it has never had a problem. Only my @gmail.com account does. Both use 2-factor authentication. Very frustrating. (I now have the @gmail account set up again using IMAP, so I know the credentials are right, but since I have exactly zero contacts, it's useless.)
