The free dock offer was on the MS preorder site yesterday. Seems to have vanished today. Only the white is currently available to preorder too.

I'm gonna wait this out a bit till i can read some reviews, and MS up their topcashback rate or a reseller has a discount code offer - i will snap when it's available under ?480.....

Further to my post above...WOW the Microsoft Online store is flaky and the customer service poor. My (Microsoft store site created) duplicate order is still not apparently fully sorted. Microsoft CS are saying just wait and hope the pre-authorisation just goes away, even when sent the information saying that they have to do something as provided by Paypal they keep coming back with the same old wait and hope. Paypal are that exasperated by the situation that they have called Microsoft to try and sort it out (they actually called me to tell me this, which if you know Paypal you will be aware that actually getting to speak to a real person is rare). Yesterday I checked the Microsoft store site and found I had "No orders were found", which they claim is a mistake and I do still have an order on their system, its only the website that is wrong...it is just a farce from such a large company.

Ordered mine through Clove which was linked from the MS website.
They've just confirmed delivery for December 3rd - with ?35 of 'extras' (a ?20 voucher and a skin) :smile:

Well, I've now cancelled my pre-order with Microsoft as they have been so staggeringly inept. The final final straw was when I pointed out the Amazon were now selling them for ?470 incl priority shipping, and they tried to say that they were selling it for ?449 and couldn't understand when I said that their price was excluding tax and delivery and Amazon's was inclusive.

Yeah I'm liking amazon for their service at the moment. I'm hoping they ship the phone before the 12th though!

I have an order in place with Amazon, and after their latest price reduction, I called to cancel my MS Store order. The guy on the phone asked why I was cancelling and I said because it was a lot cheaper elsewhere - he didn't try the hard sell but did warn me about buying MS products from other suppliers....!

Despite Amazon being an official partner linked off their product page.... Wow they keep plumbing new depths....

Cancelling an order with Microsoft also takes 2 working days apparently...what other estore has that sort of delay?

I cancelled my MS order to go with Amazon as well - thankfully it was showing as cancelled on the MS site within about 20 minutes!
