I have a problem when charging at night. The phone powers off and won't power back on unless the battery is removed. I've tried different chargers and the same result. Has anyone else had this happen to them? I'd like to upgrade to the 928 bit don't want the same issues with that. I'd love to fix this.

Meth819 I to have the same problem. I plug it in at night, wake up the next morning, phone is powered down. I would have to remove the battery to get to boot up again. I read recently that if you hold the power button down along with holding the volume button down it will boot up. Well what do you know it worked. Heads up you do need to hold both down for at least 20 seconds, but it does work. No more pulling the battery. Hope this helps you.

I had the same problem. It was frozen every morning when I would wake up. Regardless of being plugged in or not. Only once or twice did it freeze while I was actually using the device. My Mom also has an 822 and said she never once had the problem. So I called Verizon, and they sent me the warranty replacement almost 2 weeks ago and it has not frozen since. I personally would call and get it swapped out for free.

While I recommend swapping it , its really not the 822's fault its a WP8 common problem (Ativ S has it , Lumia920 has it and many more.)
If you want to get rid of it just as you figure out your options you just need to disable WLAN when you're charging it and I bet you it won't freeze.
This method was suggested to me by Windowsphonesupport on twitter , which suggests there's a fault with Wlan/Bluetooth drivers , I haven't downloaded the latest firmware to check if this problem went away or not.

Good to know. Thanks everyone. I bought the phone off contract so swapping it out for free isn't an option. Although I do have an upgrade and may make the jump to the 928. I'll shut off Bluetooth and wlan tonight and see what happens.
