"make sure bluetooth is on and your phone is close by"

Hi all,

Our next update should help improve some of the problems that people have been seeing. It won't fix things 100%, but life will be much better.

(As per usual, I can't say when the update will come out! We are very aware of how painful this is though)

This is good to know. One other thing I noticed is that when I'm using the built-in replies to text messages, I get an error also because it thinks the phone cannot be reached. I'm assuming its all part of the same issue.

I am also having same issues replying to text messages on my Band 2, using unlocked dual sim 950 with .36 build. But it is not like Band and Lumia phones are made by the same company or anything, so these issues are totally understandable.

It's weird, I just set a reminder with cortana using my band2 and 950xl with freshly installed microsoftmdg firmware. It worked, however, the band2 was stuck saying "Just a Sec" for a long time and eventually said, sorry cannot connect to your phone.

EDIT: oh wait, it's not even listed in my reminders in the end! I guess I never did get the confirmation that cortana would remind me.

Just wanted to remind that this is still an issue on the Band 1 as well. Should Microsoft release a fix, let's make sure to include those of us with the original hardware please.

Out of curiosity, are others using the "Use an alternative Bluetooth audio connection for speech" under Advanced in Bluetooth options? I turned it on and had this problem - but it seems to have gone since I turned the option off.
Interesting. I didn't think of this. I use the alternate audio because of '16 Mazda 6, otherwise Cortana won't hear me when I'm speaking. I'll try changing the settings and see if that works. However, it shouldn't have any effect on the keyboard or canned replies, which also don't work. Maybe Microsoft should consider having the "alternate audio" setting be per device instead of global.

I'm using WP10 and have had the same issues since getting the Band 2. It doesn't matter if I enable the "alternate audio" setting or not. Same issues with both texting and Cortana. I fully believe this is a WP10 issue and not the Band 2, but it rarely works at all for me anymore, I'm more surprised when it does work. It's just another check box against MS, I doubt you'd see Apple releasing the iWatch where the communication with their newest production phone software worked about 10-15% of the time.

Used band 2 on Lumia 920 with 8.1 and it worked flawlessly. Got the 950xL and it has the issues. I fully believe it is WIN10's fault. For what it's worth, please FEEDBACK to MS about band issues. Last time I only saw like 5 people complaining about the issue

I can confirm as well that alternate audio makes zero difference. Also, 10-15% is an overestimate me thinks :-P

If you are a fast ring user, there was an update released today for WP10 and it specifically addresses issues with Band communication and Cortana, I'm assuming also relates to text messaging. I'm downloading the update right now and will let you know how it behaves after the update.

First thing I tested after updating to 10586.63. Sadly I get the same errors.

More than 2 months after the launch, Microsoft's flagship wearable still doesn't work with their own flagship operating system.

The update has fixed my issues with Cortana and replying to texts. Before update I couldn't reply via cortana while on wifi but now it is great. So I am happy with the latest IP

At least for now, it also seems to have fixed my issues as well. I haven't had a failed communication yet after updating.

Hello,

I have a Lumia 925 with the latest 10586.63. That is a clean install, not an update. My band 2 works well when it is connected. But many times, if I leave my phone somewhere out of range with the Band then they do not "find" each other when back in range. I have to go to Bluetooth settings on the phone and force/restart a connection through Bluetooth settings..

Also please add an additional language capability. I get texts in Greek and all I see are small squares. It kills the deal for me.

Thank you.

Ensure you have the Cortana live tile on your start screen.

If the problem persists, exchange the band

Have tried every fix one could, short of replacing my band. Lumia 930 with fast ring has never worked with Cortana. Come on, Cortana was half of the reason I bought the Band 2!
