MAP Bluetooth Protocol

As far as I can tell, WP8 does not include the Bluetooth MAP profile. This means that a number of in-car infotainment systems will no longer have the ability to read your text messages aloud or reply. I'm really disappointed that this decision was made and have posted my concerns on the Microsoft community site. This basic profile needs to be added back in, or there are going to be a lot of irritated Ford, Acura, Honda, and I don't know how many other car company owners.

I noticed that my head unit wasn't displaying my text messages any more (it used to with my HD7 and Omnia) I've been hunting round in the settings for something to kick it into life but this explanation makes sense. Lets hope we get an update soonish to add the protocol back in/

Whenever I've paired any WP7 devices to my laptop, the Broadcom utility lists Messaging Access Profile and downloads the drivers. The SMS editor comes up and downloads messages but will not send. Same thing happens with my work-issued iPhone 4S.
